Focusing is a particular way to pause and create spce for new possibilites to arise.  It was identified as a process that some people innately do and others can learn by Eugene Gendlin.  It is underpinned by the principle (similar to mindfluness), that opportunities for change exist when applying open, non-judgemental attention to something which is directly experienced but not in words - your body knows more about situations than your conscious mind is aware of.
